Google Pixel 7 Detailed Description:

Design.

The Pixel 7 offers one of the best values for a flagship smartphone, most especially with its design. If you are not familiar with the Pixel 6’s design, then just look at the Pixel 7 because they feature a similar outlook. The Pixel 7 houses its rear cameras in a bar that stretches the length of the phone. It’s a brighter look this year, as the Pixel 7 swaps out its predecessor’s plastic camera bar for one made out of aluminium with an attractive matte finish. Google has also stuck with rounded edges on the Pixel 7. The phone is not that heavy as it weighs 197 grams making it easy to carry around. It also has pocket friendly dimensions; 155.6 x 73.2 x 8.7 mm (6.13 x 2.88 x 0.34 in).

Display.

The Google Pixel 7’s 6.3-inch OLED display has a 2400 x 1080 pixel resolution and HDR10+ certification, but while the screen may be slightly larger than the S22, its adaptive refresh rate only goes to 90Hz. Though that’s a bit disappointing, any difference in smoothness isn’t really noticeable unless you enjoy playing the latest games on your phone. That said, the display’s refresh rate does drop as low as 10Hz, good news for battery life.

Its display size also favours its compatibility with the Nintendo Switch.

Pixel 7 is protected with Gorilla Glass Victus covering the rear panel and boast an IP68 rating, so you can safely submerge them in freshwater up to around 10 feet for 30 minutes.

Camera.

The camera remains Pixel’s main calling and selling point. The Pixel 7 offers you a 50MP main camera and a 12MP ultrawide lens, each with the same apertures as last year.

There’s no dedicated telephoto lens on the Pixel 7 as there is on the Pixel 7 Pro, but the new Tensor chipset powering the phone does improve Google’s Super Res Zoom capability to offer an 8x digital zoom. The Pixel 7 doesn’t get the telephoto module, but its selfie cam does get upgraded to the same 10.8-megapixel sensor that’s in the 7 Pro and the 6 Pro.

The Pixel 7 has a smaller battery compared to its predecessor at 4,355mAh. That makes sense, because the new phone is smaller in all dimensions, and the battery is just the part that makes up most of the volume area. We’ve seen more affordable phones like the Galaxy A04s with a larger battery but then we can’t complain as we get extra flagship features. The upcoming Google Pixel 7a will feature a 5000mAh battery.
