Google Pixel 7 Pro Detailed Description:
Design.
The design hasn’t changed much this year – although the slightly more snug camera bump and sides are now made with a shiny polished aluminium unlike the standard Pixel 7 that uses a matte metal instead of glass. Its design is generally a glass front (Gorilla Glass Victus), glass back (Gorilla Glass Victus) and an aluminium frame. The look is perfect but we can’t shake the fear that it will attract scratches – especially on the port if you find yourself fumbling around with a charging cable.
Display.
Like the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, the Pixel 7 Pro 256GB features a 1440p OLED display with refresh rates that top out at 120Hz. They both look great, but Samsung’s is just a hair larger at 6.8 inches compared to the Pixel 7 Pro’s 6.7 inches. The Pixel’s display is covered in a regular Victus glass.
The Pixel 7 Pro can manage a peak brightness of 1,500 nits outdoors; the S22 Ultra can achieve a 1,750 nits. Roughly the same size as the iPhone 14 Plus ths display beats all odds to deliver a stunning performance. You are paying for a good display.
Camera.
The Pixel 7 Pro sports a triple rear camera setup. The 50MP main sensor does the heavy lifting, and it performs just as well as I had hoped. A 12MP ultrawide sensor does a great job of capturing detail at a superwide angle. And then there’s the 48MP telephoto camera, rocking a 5x optical zoom level. The powerful triple camera system adds drama and detail to all your photos and videos.
Around front, the 10.8MP selfie cam does pretty well in most conditions. The Camera Features include:
- Cinematic Blur keeps your subject in focus and blurs the background for a dramatic effect.
- The Ultrawide field of the front-facing camera now has a 92.8°view for group selfies and epic backdrops. And with its bigger sensor and sharper lens, it provides better low-light photography. You can even document it all in 4K resolution.
Performance.
The Tensor G2 chipset is yet another key selling point of the Pixel 7 Pro. The latest generation of Google’s in-house chipset aspirations, Tensor G2 has some serious upgrades over its predecessor. Not only is it more powerful but it comes close to Qualcomm.
It offers far more AI and machine learning smarts with the new Tensor Processing Unit (TPU). Pixel 7 Pro is helpful all around, with a long-lasting battery and so much more.
Pixel’s newest powerful processor is custom built with Google AI and makes Pixel 7 Pro faster, more efficient, and more secure. And it delivers even more helpful features and the best photo and video quality yet.
Ultra-Wideband technology measures range and direction, so you can use your phone as a key to unlock your car as you approach. The technology also enables Nearby Share, letting you share photos and files simply by pointing your phone. You get 5G unlike the Huawei P50 Pro plus a huge battery.
Battery.
The Pixel 7 Pro’s battery is specified at 5,000mAh, and if you’re particularly obsessed with detail, you could consider that a downgrade compared to the Pixel 6 Pro’s 5,003mAh capacity.
Other big high-end Androids like the Galaxy S22 Ultra or the OnePlus 10 Pro also use 5,000mAh batteries, while the iPhone 14 Pro Max stands at 4,323mAh.
Charging is no contest, though: Samsung wins. The S22 Ultra can hit 45W with compatible chargers, whereas the Pixel 7 Pro can pull about 23 watts — despite its 30W rating.
The new and more affordable Samsung Galaxy M13 64GB and Oppo A17 64GB also feature a similar battery.
